Experience
Education
I received two master's degrees as a Rhodes Scholar. The first was an MSc in Social Science of the Internet from the University of Oxford, where I studied digital payments in India. The second was an MA in Creative Writing from Oxford Brookes University, where I started a historical fiction novel set in 18th century Bengal.
Before Oxford, I studied International Relations at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service (with minors in Mandarin Chinese and Computer Science). I graduated summa cum laude & phi beta kappa.
Professional
Also Capital — Venture Fellow
Thought about critical hard tech sectors from semiconductors to precision robotics to aerospace. Also interviewed founders, VCs, GTM operators, and ex-military/ex-govt officials about how start-ups in these verticals are selling to the government. Wrote a short story about it.
Georgetown Global Consulting — Various roles
Contributed to work for over 25 global non-profits in the development sector with this student-run 501(c)(3). Learned how to hire, measure organizational impact, find and vet partnerships, train project managers and consultants, navigate the Burkinabe, Nigerian, and Ugandan grant-making spaces, and make pretty PowerPoint slides.

Interviewed c-level executives about how they're responding to business-critical risks including cyber threats, the Russia-Ukraine war, US regulatory fragmentation, and a turbulent labor market. My first corporate summer.
McLarty Associates — Intern, Africa Practice
Helped Fortune 200 multinational clients in tech, energy, CPG, and mining navigate security and political developments across 30+ African markets. Wrote a lot of memos for a former Ambassador and business executives.

A front row-seat to diplomacy and government with some incredible public servants. I wrote an issue paper on Nigeria's digital economy that's still being used in prep for bilateral engagement. I also helped write multi-year strategies, run programming, and even handle a few fire-drills.
World Bank — Intern, Food & Agriculture Global Practice
Researched how 200+ global AgTech start-ups are building tools for small-shareholder farms from Kenya to Brazil. Wrote a little about it in a flagship report.
